In January, following the release of their album『最高の食卓』(saikou no shokutaku), DEZERT started a nationwide tour whose final performance was held on June 6th, Saturday at Zepp Tokyo. For this live, titled 「DEZERT presents 【DEZERT ONEMAN LIVE TOUR 2016【楽しい食卓ツアー】FINAL】」, the venue was completely filled with squirming fans.
(1月に発売したアルバム『最高の食卓』を手に行い続けてきた全国ツアーも、6月5日(日)Zepp Tokyoでついにファイナル公演を迎えた。「DEZERT presents 【DEZERT ONEMAN LIVE TOUR 2016【楽しい食卓ツアー】FINAL】」と題されたこの日のライブ、会場にはびっしりの観客たちが蠢いていた。)
The expression “their live was conceiving madness” has been quite used to define DEZERT’s lives but, this live was rather filled with light and hope. In this world、there are also people submerged by darkness and despair who wish for pleasure and the future. Beside, this is the way of interpretation for everything. In this way, they wanted to tell that gloomy, painful and lively happiness was something we could find here only.
During the encore of the live held on this day Chiaki screamed”To be in a band, to live is meaningless!!”
At the same time, he also raised his voice numerous times asking some “are you alive?!!”. Weren’t these words also oriented toward himself?!! DEZERT sings the despair. However, when hearing their songs we can remember salvation we got from the bottom of our hearts. If you are wondering what is the reason for this, the following live description might be the explanation.
(よくDEZERTのライブに対して「狂気を孕んだ」という言葉が用いられるが、彼らのライブには、むしろ希望や光が満ちている。この世界には、闇や絶望へ浸ることへ快楽や未来を求める人たちもいる。そう、すべては解釈の仕方だ。こんなにもドス黒くて生々しくて痛い幸福は、ここにしか無いと先に伝えておこう。
この日のライブのアンコールで、千秋は「バンドを演ることも、生きることも無意味だ!!」と叫んでいた。同時に、何度も彼は「生きてるか!!」と声を張り上げていた。それは、自分自身へも向けた言葉だったのか!?。DEZERTは絶望を歌う。だけど、その歌に触れていると心に救いを覚えてゆく。その理由…!?。それを、今から説き明かそうじゃないか。)
“There is no salvation in this song”;”There is no salvation in this place”. The curtains opened with the tempo of the melancholic song アー (A). The fans with disheveled hair from the beginning were moving their heads violently to the rhythm. When there is no salvation it is ok to go crazy. Facing the stage screams it was ok to make some noise. Carrying this exaltation、DEZERT’s live continued its process.
(「この歌には救いはない」「この場所には救いはない」。緩急活かした暗鬱な『「あー。」』からライブは幕を開けた。冒頭から頭を振り乱し暴れてゆく観客たち。救いがなければ狂えばいい。舞台上の絶叫へ立ち向かい騒げばいい。その高揚を抱いたまま、DEZERTのライブは進行し続けていった。)
“Let’s begin !”.『「君の子宮を触る」』(kimi no shikyuu wo sawaru) dragged the great enthusiasm to a break. The painful crowd’s moves were awaking some kind of pleasure…After that, the dark and heavy『「肋骨少女」』( rokkotsu shoujo) resounded, making people’s abdomens vibrate. Fans were agitating their hands, making the very pleasant noises of a crowd set on fire.
(「始めましょう」。『「君の子宮を触る」』が熱狂の奈落へガンガン引きずり込んでいく。痛い衝動が、なんて快楽を呼び起こしてゆくことか…。黒く重く唸る調べとともに、身体へ鈍い衝撃を与えた『「肋骨少女」』。手を上げ踊り狂う観客たち、放たれる音の痛みがとても心地好い。)
“Let’s write your testaments!” said the singer, “Will the future be dark from now on??”. DEZERT’s songs are like watching the light from the despair, that is to say, the very end. The people at the venue too, in this kind of darkness party, feeling the shining hope in their bodies, experienced it. The song『「遺書。」』( isho [meaning testament]) which made them feel a gloomy passion was performed, breaking their mind, making them violent and going totally crazy. After asking “Will the future be dark from now on??” the song 『大塚ヘッドロック』(Otsuka headlock) followed.
Chiaki gave the orders of running into some directions and numerous fans followed the instruction with a great enthusiasm.
(「お前たちの遺書を書こう」。彼らは歌いかけてきた「暗い未来ですか??」と。DEZERTの歌は、絶望という奈落の底から光を見ている。会場中の人たちも、闇の宴の中、射し込む希望を肌に感じながらも、『「遺書。」』というドス黒い激情に触れ、理性を壊し、ただただ暴れ狂っていた。そう、「これが暗い未来ですか??」と言わんばかりに。『大塚ヘッドロック』でも、千秋の指示に導かれ左右に走ったりと、大勢の観客たちが熱狂の中で蠢いていた。)
“I sincerely dedicate this song to the people who ought love.” was the sign which announced the next fervent and deep song『「殺意」』(satsui). The song was heard, the melody impact being the same as the impact as a hammer hit. Chiaki went down from the stage to the seats space while shouting the song. The fans were also singing, and were able to catch Chiaki’s emotions. Once again people went crazy. It would have made nonsense to stop this fervor.
(「愛すべきみなさんのため、僕は本気でこのラブソングを届けます」、その言葉を合図に、激烈で重厚な『「殺意」』が鉄槌を食らうほどの衝撃を持って襲いかかってきた。客席へ降り、狂ったように歌い叫ぶ千秋。観客たちも絶叫を持って、千秋の螺子の外れた感情を愛おしく受け止めていた。理性はとっくに壊れている。その勢いを、止めるなんてとてもナンセンスだ。)
Then, the live took another development, the atmosphere became nostalgic、in the total obscurity DEZERT calmly made『「追落」』(oioto) resounded. Packed in the despair, sinking down and down , the sensation of being floating was feeling good. For people submerged by the despair, the melody was like a pleasant babysitter being here to guide them through this despair.
Then『おはよう』(ohayou) was heard, encouraging people to sing jointly. The lyrics were successively projected on the screen. It was the kind of song which make people think about why they are living before the end of the day. DEZERT’s song was filled with a lot of aspirations. Those words were simply denying the common sense…
(一転、刹な色を携えながらも、闇の底を這いずりまわるようにDEZERTはゆったりと『「追落」』を響かせだした。絶望に包まれながら、底へ底へと沈みながらも、何処か浮遊してゆく感覚が気持ちいい。絶望に浸りたい人ほど、絶望を導く旋律は心地好い子守歌になる。
ともに歌おうと鼓舞するように流れたのが『おはよう』だ。スクリーンには、次々と言葉が映し出されてゆく。お前なりの生きるための答えを導き出せと、今日が終わる前にその意味を感じとれと言わんばかりに。DEZERTの歌はとても希望に満ちている。ただ、その言葉が常軌や常識を否定しているだけのこと…。)
“Alive people, raise your voices!!””Dying people, you too, raise your voices!!” succeeded these words, well known songs took the control of the venue.
The place was surrounded with the intense noise of the music and the next song 『包丁の正しい使い方〜思想編~』(houchou no tadashii tsakaikata ~ shisouhen [the right way of a kitchen knife use ~ ideas compilation]) was played with a force which could destroy the place、everybody adopted a fighting pose supporting the band. The place sure looked as if a crazy party was happening. During this moment Chiaki took the bass guitar from SaZ and started to play. SaZ and Chiaki, having taken his bass, went down into the audience, making the fans wild. Afterward, this time, taking the guitar from Miyako, Chiaki went in the excited crowd once again. There was no need to say that people went crazy. It was a beastly feeling. It was absolute madness and that was good.
“I hate you, this is what I say to your education”. Then the fans started to sing and do some headbangs on「教育」』(kyouiku [meaning education]).
(「生きてる奴は声上げろ!」「死んでる奴も声上げろ!!」。鋼のような豪音を轟かせた歌と演奏が会場中を支配した。凄まじい音の唸りに抱かれ、この身さえもぶち壊してくれと言わんばかりの勢いで、『包丁の正しい使い方〜思想編~』へ誰もが身体を折りたたみ戦いを挑んでいた。まさにここは狂った宴の場。途中、千秋がSaZからベースを奪い取り演奏。SaZが、ベースを手にした千秋が客席に降りて客たちを煽れば、今度はmiyakoからギターを奪い取り、千秋が客席にふたたび降りて煽っていた。そう、狂うことにルールなんかいらない。必要なのは野獣な感覚。ただただ狂えば、それでいい。)
“Move !” screamed Chiaki, while people were furiously pushing each other and 『「不透明人間」』(futoumei ningen) was performed to let the crowd be wild. “It’s super dirty, noisy, seems fake but this is our authentic song”. The excited public was literally screaming out. Then,『「セイオン」』(seion) began, embracing the enthusiasm of people yelling, showing the light in their heart. The ugly and dirty noise became enjoyable.
With a sudden change, it was as if the music was made to lead the public to the deep end of the world.”I think that the answer is certainly inside of you!”. The fans were rushing under the control of the screaming Chiaki who came down from the stage. Being crushed in the middle of the audience, he continued singing. It looked like a supreme pleasure for him.『包丁の正しい使い方〜終息編~』(houchou no tadashii tsakaikata ~ shuusokuhen~) then made the crowd reach the top of madness. Then started the following song ,『「秘密」』(himitsu). “For the Japanese surrounding you, you seem like people bringing troubles to the world. Breathe the best you can!!」said Chiaki to excite the audience, while the fans continued shaking their disheveled heads.
(「俺はお前たちが嫌いだ、これが君たちへの教育だ」。観客たちの歌と絶叫のやり取りを通し、場内をヘドハンの渦へと染め上げた『「教育」』。「ぶっ潰す!!」、轟音な衝撃を次々とぶつけながら、場内を暴れ奉る様に変えた『「不透明人間」』。「すっげぇ汚くてうざくて偽物っぽくて、だけどこれが僕たちの正しい歌だ」。場内中から沸き上がった雄叫び。誰もが、自分たちの心に光を指し示す昂揚のエールとして『「セイオン」』を熱狂で抱きしめていた。醜い音が、汚い音が、最高の快楽のように。
一転、深い深い奈落の世界へと導いた演奏。「答えはきっと真ん中にあると思うんだよ」 客席中央で絶叫する千秋へ左右に分かれた観客たちが突進してはグチャグチャにまみれだした。もみくちゃにされながらも、 客席のど真ん中で千秋は叫び続けていた。それが、至上の快楽だと言わんばかりに。『包丁の正しい使い方〜終息編~』が連れ出した狂った絶頂の奉り。続く『「秘密」』でも、「まわりに流される日本人どもめ、お前らが世の中を悪くするんだ。精一杯息をしろ!!」と煽られ、観客たちは頭を振り乱し狂い続けていた。)
They were put on fire by the stage.
“You are not the only ones in pain”. DEZERT put the fans in hell once again. The blaze changed with the amplitude of the emotion.『「擬死」』(gishi) was performed as if it was the song representing the artery linked with the heart of the four members. The trembling emotions of blood flow, was made of dirty noises, and contaminated people hearts. But because they know that we cannot live without blood, DEZERT slowly poured a dark blood into the public. Calmly, as if sinking in the bottom of darkness,『脳みそくん。』(noumisokun) started, the song penetrating in the crowd.
Afterward, the silence started to fall on the crowd, but the curtains reopened after the encore.
(舞台上で大きく揺れる無数のかがり火。「苦しいのはお前だけじゃない」。ふたたび奈落の闇の中へDEZERTは観客たちを引き込みだした。感情の振幅に合わせ大きさを変えてゆく炎。『「擬死」』は、4人の心臓へと繋がる動脈のような歌。感情が揺れ動くごとに、その血流は、汚れた音となって解き放たれ、触れた人たちの心を汚していく。その血がないともはや生きられないと知っているからこそ、彼らはどんどん黒い血を客席へと注ぎ込んでいた。
ゆったりと、闇の底を流れるように場内へ浸透し始めたのが、『脳みそくん。』。静かなる狂気の波紋が会場へと広がる中、アンコールの物語は優しく幕を開けた。)
“Why are you making a band?!” “Everything is meaningless”, “I think meaningless things are repeating.” “We are floating in meaningless itself” said DEZERT. Starting for this moment until the end of the live, the enthusiasm never stopped.
They played『MONSTER』, people shaking their heads continuously and then『doze.』which made fans delighted . Chiaki addressed to the countless madmen shaking their necks “Let’s play a game !!”;”I am convinced that it doesn’t mean anything but, is it alright if I ask you only one thing ?? ARE YOU ALIVE?!” . The members of the band were the origin of a dark melody, extremely heavy. With the real feeling of being alive everybody screamed on『切断』(setsudan) accepting their lives. A battle to determinate who between the stage and the crowd, would drop dead first, was unmistakably happening.
Lastly, DEZERT performed『「ピクトグラムさん」』( pictogram-San). The tune created a feeling of excited lively motion and exaltation in the public. “The song which cures injuries” made the close to each other wounded hearts show a smile.
“It would be good to live”. It is certain that those words were resounding as if a pinky promise to look forward tomorrow had been made.
(「なんでバンドをやっているのか?!」「全部が無意味なんだ」「無意味なことをずっと繰り返していこうと思うんです」「無意味に飛んじゃって」。ここからは最後まで、ノンストップで熱狂のバトルが繰り広げられた。
轟きを上げた『MONSTER』に合わせ、無邪気に飛び跳ね頭を振り続ければ、『doze.』が歓喜した想いを身体に刻んでいった。「勝負しようぜ!!」、場内中に蠢く無数の首振る狂人たち。「無意味だと確信したけど、一個だけ聴いていい??生きてるかー?!」。重く重く、これでもかと言わんばかりに黒い重厚な音を突き付けてゆくメンバーたち。生きてることを実感するように、誰もが『切断』に合わせ、叫び狂うことで生を享受していた。舞台上とフロアーのどちらが先にくたばるか、そこには間違いなく闘いが繰り広げられていた。
火照った身体をびしょ濡れのタオルで包むように、DEZERTは最後に『「ピクトグラムさん」』を叩きつけてきた。気持ちに高ぶる躍動と昂揚を与えてゆく楽曲だ。傷ついた心に寄り添う、”傷を癒す傷だらけな歌”に心が笑顔を浮かべていた。「生きていればいい」。その言葉が確かな、明日への約束の指切りのようにも響いていた。)
During the two hours and half lasting show, DEZERT transmitted the strength of “living” to their fans through their concert. They wanted to deepen their exchanges, and it has nothing to do with pleasuring oneself. There is no doubt they were able to share a rich time with the audience, putting all their energy in the live. Going to their live means putting your reason aside. This is pure happiness!
(2時間半に渡り、「生きる」力を授けてくれたDEZERTのライブ。彼らが交流を求めようが、マスターベーションだろうと、そんなの関係ない。ただただ、全力で生を感じとれる濃密な時間を共有出来たのだけは間違いない。ここに来ると理性を投げ捨てられる。それが単純に嬉しいんだよ。)
