【VG】Live Report | MEJIBRAY “THE END to be or not to be” @ Akasaka BLITZ June 11th

MEJIBRAY’s 5th anniversary tour “THE END to be or not to be” has been going on since April. The final stops took place on June 10th and 11th at Akasaka BLITZ.

The tour was held in a “2 days” style in which the setlists for each day in one city were vastly different. The fans really enjoyed it.

As fans waited for MEJIBRAY to take the stage, they chanted, “Mada ka, mada ka?” (“Still not ready? Still not ready?”) The SE “Moudoku” began, and the audience went wild in an instant.

First Meto, then Koichi, then MiA, and finally Tsuzuku stepped on stage.

Without a moment’s hesitation, they began 「羽花」, their 18th single set for a November release. The pent-up fans put all their energy into headbanging.

“BLACK REBELLION” was next, a song known for its insane guitar riffs. This is when MEJIBRAY’s backdrop appeared on stage, as if signaling the true beginning of the show. During the rock tune “VICTIM(ism),” fans headbanged, wandered left and right, and jumped up and down as one.

The scene was all the more enchanting since MEJIBRAY also has a lot of male fans.

（4月から開催された5周年記念全国TOUR 「THE END to be or not to be」のツアーファイナルが６月10と11日に赤坂BLITZにて開催された。

２Daysで開催されたツアーファイナルはセットリストも全く違い、全国各地から２日連続で通うファンも大勢いた。

MEJIBRAY登場まで「まだか、まだか」と待ち続けているファン。そこでSEの”猛毒” が流れた途端に客席はヒートアップ。

メト、恋一、MiA、綴の順番にステージに登場。

いきなり11月にリリースする18th Single”羽花”を披露。新曲にも関わらず、溜まりに溜まっていたファンがヘドバンの嵐で応戦。

続けて攻撃的なリフが印象的な”BLACK REBELLION”では、ライブの始まりを告げるかの様に炎と同時にMEJIBRAYのバックドロップが立ち昇った。ロックチューンの”VICTIM(ism)”では、ファンのヘドバン、左右の大移動、ジャンプなど会場全体の一体感を作り出していた。

MERIBRAYは男性ファンも多く、ファン全員が一体感を出しているのは非常に素晴らしい光景だ。）

Koichi’s groovy bass solo introduced “Madari,” to which Tsuzuku headbanged with all of his might. The fans headbanged and shouted in response.

MiA sweeped, tapped, and shredded on his guitar vigorously during “insomnia.”

SE’s were mixed with fans’ cheers between songs, displaying MEJIBRAY’s unique sound and style of show in “-XV-,” “Ningen,” and “RenYus” that followed in the setlist.

Tsuzuku’s unique screeches, death shouts, and charisma added color to the songs.

（そして恋一のグルーヴィーなベースソロからの”マダリ”では、綴も全力でヘドバン。それに応えるかのようにファンもヘドバンをし、掛け声で応戦。

”insomnia”ではMiAのスウィープ&タッピングなどのシュレッドプレイもビシバシ決めていた。

そしてファンの歓声とSEが入り交じりMEJIBRAYらしい独特な世界観がある

”-XV-“、”人間”、”RenYus”を連続で披露。

綴の奇声とも言える独特な声とデスヴォイスが楽曲の世界観を作り出している。

綴の圧倒的カリスマ性により、MEJIBRAYの世界観がある楽曲が成り立っているといっても過言でない。）

“Tokyo!!!” Tsuzuku shouted, and began the MEJIBRAY classic “Nepenthes.” Fans tirelessly headbanged and rocked out.

An SE played until Tsuzuku gave the single to begin the metal track “DIE KUSSE.”

MiA colored his guitar melody with a delay effect, shredding in his fast-picking and tapping guitar solo.

（そして綴が「東京～！」と叫び、定番曲である”ネペンテス”を披露。ファンは全く疲れたそぶりを見せずに全力でヘドバンで応戦。

SEが流れながら、綴のあおりからはじまったメタルチューンの”DIE KUSSE”。

ここでもMiAのディレイが利いたメロディアスなメロディー、早弾き&タッピングを織り交ぜたギターソロをしっかりぶつけてくれた。）

Tsuzuku’s unique voice shined in the heavy tunes that followed, “Uso to Gukou-Sore mo Mata Ningen rashii te Kami-sama wa Waratteru no-“ and “Kase to Chinou-Sore te Totemo Ningen rashii te Kami-sama wa Waratteru no-.” Fans moved left and right in the audience and jumped up and down fiercely.

Fans united in the rhythmical rock track “BOWWOW,” where they headbanged together during the breakdown and sang along to the lyrics during the chorus.

（綴の世界観のある声が特徴的なヘヴィーチューン”嘘と愚行-それもまた人間らしいって神様は笑ってるの-“、”枷と知能-それってとても人間らしいって神様は笑ってるの-”を連続で披露。

ファンは左右の大移動、ジャンプとまだまだ自分が溜めているものを吐き出そうとしている。

そしてリズミカルなロックチューンである”BOWWOW”では、ブレイクダウンではヘドバン、サビでシンガロングも見られ、一体感が高まっていた。）

“Are you ready?” Tsuzuku shouted in introduction to the fast tune “APOCALYPSE.” Fans not only headbanged, they also crashed into each other for an intense round of gyakudai.

But Tsuzuku wasn’t satisfied; he beckoned fans again and again with his voice for the fans to go wilder. They shouted and shook their heads even more fiercely in response.

The tension raised almost impossibly higher with “Karma-Gareki no Manticores-“. Fans shouted “Karma! Karma!” during the chorus.

（そして綴の「覚悟はいいか？」の掛け声ではじまった攻撃的なファストチューンAPOCALYPSEではヘドバン、逆ダイで会場は狂乱していた。

しかしまだまだ物足りないと感じた綴がファンに全力でぶつかるように何度も問いかけ、ファンも必死に叫び、ヘドバンで応えた。

そしてMiAのメタリックなリフではじまる”カルマ-瓦礫のマンティコーラース-“では更に熱狂は最高潮に。サビではファン全員で「カルマ!カルマ!」と叫び続けた。）

Encore #1

Fans ceaselessly called for an encore. They weren’t burnt out yet.

Meto began playing drums in response, then the remaining members Koichi, MiA, and Tsuzuku returned.

The first song in the encore was “ACME.”

Fans participated in the wall of death as if they were waiting for it all night, adding headbanging to the mix. “D.E.INCUBUS” began on Tsuzuku’s cue; fans swang their band towels in a frenzy.

MiA began the fan favorite “Messiah” with speedy picking, to which fans responded by shaking their heads.

（ファンからの鳴り止まないコールが続いた。まだまだ暴れ足りていない様子だ。

その声に応えるかのようにメトのドラムプレイがはじまり、恋一、MiA、綴が登場。

そしてアンコール一発目は”ACME”。

ウォールオブデスではファンも待ってましたかのようにぶつかり合い、ヘドバンで応える。

綴のあおりから入った”D.E.INCUBUS”では、ファンはタオルを回しながら大暴れ。

そしてライブでの定番曲”メサイア”では、イントロからMiAの渾身の早弾きをかまし、ファンも全力でヘドバン。）

Encore #2

Fans still hadn’t had enough; they called for another encore.

Tsuzuku began his MC by expressing his gratitude towards fans for helping them make it to their 5th anniversary. then he said to the fans, “There’s still a lot we want to do, so we’re going to do everything we can until the end!” MEJIBRAY seems to be one of the rare bands that will only continue for as long as they like.

Meto’s drumming and Koichi’s bass signaled the beginning of “Divergence,” the single and last song of the double encore.

Tsuzuku shouted with all of his might, “Thank you all so much!” and put an end to this brilliant tour.

（ファンはまだまだ足りないかのようにコールを続けて、ダブルアンコールに突入。

綴のMCでは5周年の感謝の気持ち、そしてファンに向けて

「やりたいことあるなら最後までやりとおせ！」とのメッセージ。MEJIBRAYは誰がなんと言おうとやりたいから続けているし、今後もそれを変えずに続けると。

そしてメトのドラミングと恋一のベースからはじまった”Divergence”でアンコールが終了。

最後は、綴の肉声での「ありがとうございました！」でツアーファイナルは盛大に幕を閉じた。）
